Carpal Tunnel - Numbness in neck?

I was diagnosed with Carpal Tunnel Syndrome. The pain and numbness in my arms at night doesn't bother me at all compared to the numbness in my neck. It is so uncomfortable I can't fall asleep and I wake up every couple hours. My Doctor told me it is normal to experience numbness and pain in neck with Carpal Tunnel Syndrome, but I was just wondering if anyone else has had this problem and if they found relief of it in any way.
