HELP! Carpal tunnel syndrome query?
I've never heard of Carpal Tunnel Syndrome being hereditary, however you are in a profession that requires you to use your hands a lot and more then likely that is what is causing the problem. I've had it in both of my hands. I had to have surgery to correct the problem. Here is what you can do. Sleep with a carpal tunnel wrist brace, you can find them at most pharmacies, the brace should go down to just below your mid forearm, you want it to support your entire wrist area. Wear the brace at night or when you are sleeping. Take Ibuprofen ,Advil, for the pain and swelling and take vitamin B6. This is what my doctor had me do. Sadly even after doing all those things I still had problems. By the time I went to the doctors my hands were really bad.The surgery took less them 20 minutes and I was awake. I haven't had to much problems since the surgery. It did take a few weeks to start to get my strength back, but I'm not in pain anymore, I wish you luck and I hope I helped you out some.
