Question about my personal injuy lawsuit?

i was involved in a slip and fall where i sustained a torn disc at the l5-s1, along with sever carpal tunnel plus many sprains in my back and arm. The insurance company wants to settle the wrist but fight the back injury. The insurance company would rather go to court and fight it, so instead of settleling we are suing. I have 10 years of medical history saying i never have been injured along with MRI's stating these injurys. the insurace company has 30 days to set up a court date. I have one of the best lawyers in the business, he is also a trial lawyer. I was wondering is this just a scare tactic by the insurace company or do they really believe they can win in court?
